Nine: A New Reality
When you trusted in jesus…
Everyone, whether they are aware of it or not, has a “worldview.” This worldview is simply the lens through which you see everything around you, the way you understand and perceive the world. It includes things like your values, how you define meaning, how the universe came into being and the very nature of reality itself. It also tackles age-old questions like, “What is the meaning of life?” Worldviews without God typically find their values and morality in all sorts of different approaches—from what makes me feel good to what provides the most happiness for the most people. This type of worldview might also believe the beginning of the universe and everything we know came from nothing, all at once, in a “Big Bang.” Whether you knew it or not, you had your own worldview, likely with many holes and unanswered questions. When you trusted in Jesus, you became aware of a completely new worldview, a New Reality, with God at its center.
This new lens or reality will transform the way you understand your life, values, meaning and reality. These concepts of values, priorities and morality, aren’t simple human constructions—they are, in fact, real and found in the character of God and what He designed as good, true and beautiful. When you see immense order and purpose in the world, these aren’t just happy accidents that arose through chance; they were formed with deep meaning and purpose by a wise and loving Creator. No longer should you see the world as only made of matter, as many normally understand it, but as filled with spiritual and supernatural components that are just as real, if not more so. This is the new reality, which existed all along, that your eyes have now been opened to see.
Just as philosophers, scientists, religious teachers and other great thinkers throughout time have wrestled to develop their own worldviews, so you too, have entered this process. As you begin to learn more about God, the true nature of His creation, its purpose, and what is true, good and beautiful, this new lens will transform the way you understand everything around you. Every thought, person and experience will start to be colored through this new light so that you can see and understand them as God intended, as they truly are. Welcome to the New Reality.
